Robert Nieman

• I have lived on San Juan Island for the past 23 years and visited the islands with frequency before that.

• I am a born and bred Washingtonian, graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in Chemical Engineering.

• I worked for over thirty years in the Tucking Industry. My last job was Vice President and General Manager of a major west coast trucking firm. In addition to my daily duties, I was also responsible for land and property acquisitions for the company in the western half of the USA.

• My wife Patricia and I have been married for 25 years. We have two married children and two grand children.

• I love to play golf and enjoy fine wood working. I attempt to keep very active in community affairs, the San Juan Community Theatre, and the Lutheran Church in the San Juans.

• My wife and I came to the islands to step away from the hustle and bustle of the cities and our jobs. We bought and operated Nieman’s Fine Gifts, a fine jewelry and gift shop, also Harbor Rental and Saw Shop. Later we purchased and operated Island Petroleum Services, Harbor Tire and Battery and Island’s Quick Lube. After selling the businesses, I became interested in Real Estate and associated myself with Windermere Real Estate/San Juan Islands. We love our island life and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
